Winter Holiday in Erzurum, Turkey

I have never shared winter holiday photos with you, so I thought it was the time to already do so. I was invited by @allmagazine and @lofficielturkiye to spend three days in the famous winter resort Palandöken, situated very close to Erzurum, Turkey. Excited about this little holiday in Turkey I instantly said yes. The hotel we went to is a very nice alpine style place with lovely facilities - it has a beautiful wellness and spa center on site.

Sway Hotel offers not only a very comfortable accommodation, but also an amazing skiing experience for everyone who loves skiing and snowboarding. There is a beautiful long ski piste just in front of the hotel and a ski lift as well to get you on the top of the hill.

VINTAGE MIRROR LOVE

I have always been a lover of vintage. I have the strange habit of checking for vintage markets and shops everytime we are travelling abroad. I have always appreciated vintage finds more than new ones. It may sound weird to some people but I can honestly tell you, it give you the best feeling when you find something nice that dates from years back.

Here are a few shots that I took when I was a bit bored at home. I think they turned out very good, they definitely gave me the inspiration I needed to create more content for you.

I t is amazing how much Spring changes everything around us. The moment we saw this Forsythia garden we knew we had to take photos there. So I took my warm blazer off and we started shooting. I loved how my breton shirt and red beret fit so perfectly with the yellow blooms around me. Want to hear a little secret? You can wear all your spring outfits as long as you learn to layer properly.

It may look like I'm in Paris but this is actually a cafe with a sea view in the old center of Batumi. If you are following me on my Instagram (if not, you totally should) you have probably seen that I and my husband went on a road trip to the northeast part of Turkey at the beginning of October. It was a trip that we have planned for years but never had the time for. Since we were so close to the border with Georgia we decided to explore one of the touristic cities situated on the Black Sea coast. I had no idea that I would love Batumi as much as I did.
On the first day of our trip, while we were discovering the city, I noticed the cute little cafe next to the harbor. I instantly knew I had to take some photos there. The next morning we visited the flowers market first and I bought the beautiful bouquet you see in my pictures from the sweetest old lady. She probably brought the flowers from her own garden, which made me adore them even more. Carrying the beautiful bouquet in my hands we headed to the cafe. Needless to say that this is one of my favorite photoshoots lately. I hope you enjoy it!

That is exactly how I felt after entering this beautiful cafe - liberated. There was something magical in the air, maybe it was the smell of the upcoming rainstorm. I can't really describe it...

The original idea was to visit the rooftop of Buyuk Valide Han. You have probably seen at least one Hollywood movie shot there - one of the recent ones are The James Bond movie Skyfall and Taken 2. Unfortunately, the government officially closed the access to the rooftop, which became very popular in the last few years thanks to Instagram. Being built in the 17th century, it was clearly not the safest place to climb on, and maybe closing it was not that a bad thing. Anyway, we were happy to find this beautiful cozy cafe instead. The room where the photos are taken belonged to Sultan Murad IV's mother and the Ottoman building accommodated thousands of traveling merchants and their animals for more than 350 years.

If you are planning to visit the cafe, you should know that it's not only instagrammable, but also serves the best homemade lemonade that I have tried in Istanbul. Plus you get free chocolate cookies with it. I will be surely going back soon.

1. Checked prints - they come almost every Fall and they are certainly a sign for me that the weather is getting colder (and days shorter). I'm wearing a vintage blazer borrowed from my husband's closet and I'm telling you, no one even noticed that it's not mine.

2. Red color - you can find the color red on almost everything this season - bags, shoes, clothes, even make-up. Trust me, red is the new pink.

3. Sock boots - I still remember the 90's when sock boots became popular. My Mom had two pairs and I kept walking in them around the house, pretending to be a fashionista. If you are not a fan of the 10cm heels you should definitely check for ones with kitten heels. Almost every high street brand have them in their collection at the moment.

Most importantly enjoy the trends, and if they fit your personal style, incorporate them into your outfits.
